Ricardo Arjona Antolin

Ricardo Arjona Antolin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ricardo is the Founder & Chairman of ec2ce since May 2016. Ricardo has also served as the President of BDi Biotechnology and VLPbio since June 2017. Additionally, they are a Patrono at FIAL - Fundación de la Inteligencia Artificial Legal since December 2020.

Prior to these positions, Ricardo worked as an Associate Professor at the Universidad de Sevilla starting from 1999. Ricardo has also held executive positions at Abengoa Bioenergy, including Executive Vicepresident from 2014 to 2016, Technology Development Vicepresident from 2013 to 2014, and Director General from 2004 to 2013.

Moreover, they served as the General Director at Abengoa Bioenergy New Technologies from 2011 to 2013 and held the role of Business Development New Energy at INERCO, S.A. from 2002 to 2004. In their early career, Ricardo worked as a Project Manager at AICIA (Andalusian Association for Research and Industrial Cooperation) from 1992 to 2002.

Ricardo Arjona Antolin has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Sevilla. Ricardo also holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Chemical Engineering from the same university. In addition, they have completed a program in Strategic R&D Management from INSEAD and a degree in Business Administration from Escuela de Organización Industrial.
