Lauren Shumate is a Senior Associate at VMDO Architects since December 2015, with significant project experience including the University of Virginia Contemplative Commons, Softball Stadium, and Student Health & Wellness, as well as Fleet Elementary School and Paul IV High School. Prior to this role, Lauren worked as a Designer at Stantec from June 2012 to December 2015 and served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Virginia from August 2010 to May 2012, assisting in multiple architecture courses. Lauren started the professional journey as an Intern Architect at KSS Architects from September 2008 to July 2010, focusing on design and documentation for higher education projects. Educational qualifications include a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture, both obtained from the University of Virginia.
