Hans Joachim Polk

Hans-Joachim Polk, born in Essen in 1966, completed his studies at the Technical University of Clausthal in 1991 with a degree in deep drilling technology, oil and gas extraction. After completing his studies, he began his career as a production engineer at RWE Dea AG in 1992.

In the years that followed, Hans-Joachim Polk held various national and international positions in exploration and production at RWE Dea. He worked as a test and project engineer from 1997 to 1998, as head of underground operations from 1998 to 2001 and as production and project manager in field development at RWE Dea Egypt Branch from 2001 to 2004.

After three and a half years in Egypt, Hans-Joachim Polk returned to Germany, where he worked for RWE Dea AG from 2005 to 2006 as Head of Drilling Planning and Engineering, from 2006 to 2008 as Operations Manager in Friedrichskoog and from 2008 to 2011 as Director of Field Development.

Until 2013, Hans-Joachim Polk was Managing Director at RWE Dea Norge. Here he oversaw the optimization of the license portfolio in Norway and the exploration activities. In 2013 he took on the position of Managing Director at RWE Dea UK before moving to VNG AG in the same year.

The crude oil and natural gas engineer has been a member of the Executive Board of VNG AG since 2013 and is responsible for the areas of infrastructure and technology.
