Co-Founder, CEO at Voatz

Nimit S. has had a long and successful career in the technology industry. Nimit began their career in 1999 as a Software Engineer at Amdocs, where they performed a high-level requirements analysis for developing a new convergent telecom-billing engine, developed routines for handling hierarchical billing of corporate customers, and handled paper-bill suppression and datawarehousing of daily usage data. In 2001, they became a Researcher at the School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, where they developed a non pre-emptive embedded micro-kernel for the Intel XScale 80200 processor, ported the uCOS-II embedded operating system to the XScale 80200 platform, and developed device drivers and interrupt handler routines for the serial port, timer, and the PCI sound card. In 2003, they became a Technical Manager (R&D) at MoreMagic Solutions, where they led a team of 5 engineers in the redesign and architectural overhaul of the MBroker, led the successful implementation and delivery of the first Mobile Money solution in Haiti, and architected and launched a SMS based international airtime donation program for Haiti within 72 hours. In 2012, they became the Director of R&D - Mobile Financial Services Business Line at Oberthur Technologies, where they led the expansion of the R&D team to a group of 25 engineers and managers, led the successful implementation and delivery of Czech Republic's first universal mobile payment service, and led the successful implementation and delivery of a prepaid satellite television recharge solution for Canal+ Overseas in several countries around the world. Finally, in 2015 they became the Co-Founder and CEO of Voatz, a mobile elections platform that is changing the way the world votes. Since 2016, Voatz has successfully conducted 95 elections with several governments, major political parties, universities, and non-profits.

Nimit S. started their educational journey in 2001 when they attended Carnegie Mellon University and obtained an MS in Information Networking with a focus in Computer Science, Electrical Engg., Business Management, and Public Policy. In 2007, they attended Harvard Law School for the Program on Negotiation. Most recently, they enrolled in the Young American Leaders Program (YALP) at Harvard Business School in 2019.
