Evan S.

Evan S. has significant work experience in software development and engineering roles. Evan most recently worked as a Backend Developer at Strongbyte Solutions Ltd starting in July 2018. Prior to that, Evan served as the Principal Software Engineer at Dotter.me from December 2016 to April 2018, where they focused on developing ecommerce widgets for product brand pages.

Before Dotter.me, Evan worked as a Principal Consultant at Saratoga, based in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role, they contributed to projects for Independent Media, including the development of the IOL news and media website.

Evan also held roles at iPay, where they served as the PostgreSQL DBA and Linux Sys Admin for BizSwitch SaaS from September 2010 to December 2013. Evan was responsible for developing software for prepaid token switching and retail vending, as well as offering BizSwitch SaaS operations.

Additionally, Evan has experience as a Senior Java Developer at Travelstart in 2010, a Java Developer at SOLIDitech from 2008 to 2009, a Java Developer at iPay (Pty) Ltd from 2005 to 2009, a Java Developer at UCS Software in 2005, and a Contract Java Developer at Pick 'n Pay in 2003.

Evan S. began their education in 1982 at Durban High School, where they obtained distinctions in Mathematics, Science, Latin, and English. Evan attended the school until 1986. After completing high school, they pursued higher education at the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 1987 to 1994. During this period, Evan earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in "Optimization of laminated composite structures using symbolic computation".
