Ahmed Joosub

Ahmed Joosub initially worked as an Engineer-in-training at Denel Dynamics from January to December 2013. Ahmed then served as a Junior Mechanical Engineer from January 2014 to January 2016. After that, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer, primarily conducting thermal and aeroheating analyses, structural analysis, and building state space models at Denel Dynamics from February to December 2016. Ahmed joined Hollard Insurance in January 2017 as a Data Scientist/Analyst, where they developed and implemented a machine learning-based pricing model and analytical tools to improve decision-making and drive efficiency. Ahmed was later promoted to Analytics Manager in July 2019, leading a team of two Data Scientists and spearheading data analytics and science initiatives across the short-term insurance division until their departure in August 2021. Ahmed is currently employed as a Principal Specialist in Data and Analytics at Vodacom, starting in September 2021.

Ahmed Joosub holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science), which they obtained in 2023. Ahmed also earned a certificate in Data Science for Analysts from the Explore Data Science Academy in 2021. In 2019, they completed a certificate program in Middle Management from North-West University. Prior to that, in 2015, Ahmed attained an Honor's Degree (BEngHons) in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Pretoria. Ahmed had previously received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2012. Ahmed completed their high school education at Tshwane Muslim School from 2001 to 2008.
