Joshua Avins, Ph.D.

Joshua Avins, Ph.D. has held a variety of roles in the field of technology and research. In June 2013, they co-founded Voga Coffee and served as the CTO, heading engineering and technology development efforts. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working to identify biomolecular catalysts that act as artificial proteases to cleave peptide bonds. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University, where their research resolved long-standing contradictions in the literature about protein synthesis.

Joshua Avins, Ph.D. obtained their Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A. in Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University in 2004.
