Matthew Smull, PE has a diverse work experience in various roles. Matthew started their career as a Summer Engineering Intern at Micron Technology in 2012, where they performed failure analysis testing on memory chips and created programs using Perl. In 2013, they became an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Boise State University, conducting research on tissue-surrogates resembling human ligaments. Matthew then worked as the Lead Class Instructor at Geeko Labs from 2013 to 2015, where they developed curriculum and taught engineering, physics, and programming. In 2016, Matthew joined Musgrove Engineering as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, assisting in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial buildings. Matthew worked there until 2017 when they started their career at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. At the shipyard, they held different positions, including Nuclear Test Engineer and Supervisory Nuclear Test Engineer, coordinating nuclear work and testing during submarine maintenance periods and ensuring safe reactor plant operation. Most recently, Matthew joined Volant Partners, Inc in 2023 as a Systems Engineer for Blue Origin.

Matthew Smull, PE holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they obtained from Boise State University. Matthew attended the university from 2013 to 2017. In August 2022, they obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) specializing in Thermal and Fluid Systems from the Washington State Department of Licensing.
