Duane Cuku

Director of BD, North America at Volant Products Inc.

Duane Cuku began their work experience as an Operations Engineer at Precision Drilling in 2004. In this role, they provided technical support for a fleet of drilling rigs and was responsible for designing new equipment to improve operational efficiency. Duane also conducted root cause analysis to address failures and drive improvement initiatives.

In 2006, Duane became the Manager of Engineering and Major Capital Projects at Precision Drilling. During this time, they led a team that designed, built, and commissioned various capital projects, with a focus on modernizing the fleet of aging assets.

In 2013, Duane transitioned to the role of Operations Manager at Precision Drilling. Duane was responsible for the Houston Technical Support Center, managing the integrity of over $1 billion worth of capital assets. Duane also expanded and differentiated service lines while increasing the value of services and the organization as a whole.

In 2016, Duane became the Vice President of Sales - Technology at Precision Drilling. In this position, they created and implemented new business opportunities to facilitate the digital transformation of the drilling rig fleet. Duane collaborated with operators and suppliers to identify cost reduction and revenue increase opportunities. Duane also served as the senior technical expert on equipment and technology.

In 2020, Duane joined Harper Brothers Construction LLC as the Vice President of Business Development. Duane held this role until February 2023, when they joined Volant Products Inc. as the Director of Business Development for North America.

Duane Cuku has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. Duane also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Haskayne School of Business. In addition to their academic qualifications, Duane has obtained certifications such as PMP from the Project Management Institute - Southern Alberta Chapter (PMI-SAC) in April 2009, and PEng. from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in September 2007.
