Joseph Avallone

Joe is responsible for overseeing accounting and financial results as well as functions and policies across the organization. Prior to Volastra, Joe worked as the Controller for Prevail Therapeutics Inc., a biotechnology company engaged in the research and development of novel gene therapies to treat Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders in New York City. Joe was responsible for building out and overseeing Prevail’s accounting and finance functions. He assisted in the company’s initial public offering in 2019 and worked closely with each operational team on financial planning. Before Prevail, Joe worked at Deloitte as a Manager in the firm’s audit practice, serving various commercial and financial services companies. Joe is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey. He completed a Master of Science in Accounting at Rutgers University and received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance at Fairfield University in Connecticut.
