James Hinton CEng MICE is a seasoned design manager currently employed at VolkerStevin since July 2022, with prior experience as a senior engineer at Atkins and senior design engineer at SPL POWERLINES UK HOLDING LIMITED. James began their career at Atkins as an engineer and then served as an assistant civil engineer and consultant in Intelligent Mobility, contributing to projects involving Connected Autonomous Vehicles and Smart Ticketing, as well as rail infrastructure initiatives. James holds a degree in Civil Engineering with Construction Management from the University of Leeds, where academic training was supplemented with practical experience at the National Construction College. Earlier roles included customer service at British Gas and working as a prison officer and conservatory fitter.
