Group Controller / Financial Director Foreign Entities at VolkerWessels

Marcel Van der Sluijs has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Marcel began their career at Volker Wessels in 1990, where they held several positions in Finance & Accounting until 1998. Marcel then joined Koninklijke Wegenbouw Stevin B.V. in 1999 as a Member of the Restructuring team. In 2000, they moved to KWS Infra B.V. as a Controller, where they worked until 2005. Marcel then joined Kondor Wessels Deutschland as a Financial Director from 2005 to 2006. Marcel then took on the role of a Director at Trapp Bauservices in 2006, where they were responsible for Finance, Legal, HR, and IT. In 2007, they returned to VolkerWessels as the Financial Director until 2010, when they became the Group Controller and Financial Director for foreign entities. Additionally, Marcel was a Member of the Board at VolkerWessels from 2008 onwards. Marcel also served as a Member of the Supervisory Board at Rabobank Vijfheerenlanden from 2003 onwards.

Marcel Van der Sluijs completed their education at various institutions. Marcel received a Bachelor's degree in International Management from the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in 1989. Before that, they obtained another Bachelor's degree in Economics from the same institution in 1992. Marcel then pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam from 1997 to 2002.
