Shakirah Stemmet

Shakirah Stemmet currently serves as the Corporate Strategy Lead for Africa Trade Policy at Volkswagen Group Africa, a role held since January 2020, focusing on leveraging policy developments to guide business and expansion strategies in the African region. Prior experience includes positions as a Senior Project Engineer, where responsibilities involved managing driver assistant systems for specific markets, and as a Project Engineer at Volkswagen Group South Africa, concentrating on future project planning for production plants. Early career experience features a graduate trainee position and a student internship with the VWSA solar car project, contributing to the design of low voltage systems. Shakirah holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Nelson Mandela University and a Bachelor of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from the University of South Africa.
