Alois van Vliet

Alois van Vliet has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles in the seed industry. Alois started their career as a Sales Representative at Biasc Computersystemen in 1990. Alois then became the Managing Director of Western Seed Espana S.A., where they focused on developing high-performance tomato seed varieties. In 2002, they served as the Honorary Consul for the Netherlands for the Province of Las Palmas, representing the country and assisting Dutch citizens with various legal matters. In 2005, they became the Managing Director of Western Seed International B.V., leading the company's rapid growth in sales and profits. Alois then joined Western Seed Group, part of the International Seed Group (ISG), as Managing Director, overseeing the development, production, and distribution of high-performance vegetable seeds worldwide. In 2009, they joined Monsanto as the Area Lead Open Field Crops in Europe and part of the management team in EMEA, responsible for a €130 million turnover and leading the reorganization in Spain and Portugal. Finally, in 2010, Alois became the Managing Director and partner of Axia Vegetable Seed Group, where they successfully hired top breeding specialists and established collaborations with reputable research institutes globally.

Alois van Vliet completed their VWO (Pre University Education) from 1981 to 1986. After this, they pursued a degree in Agricultural Business Economics (MBA) from 1986 to 1990.
