Gerard Pastrana has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Gerard is currently working at Volpara Health as a Lead SQA Engineer since January 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Z Energy NZ for nearly seven years, starting in October 2014 and holding the role of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) & Infrastructure/Automation Test Lead until January 2021.

Before joining Z Energy, Gerard worked as an Infrastructure Test Manager (contract) at Alcatel-Lucent from November 2013 to September 2014. Gerard also held the same role at Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) from December 2012 to November 2013. From February 2010 to November 2012, Gerard worked as an Infrastructure Test Manager (contract) at ANZ, and from February 2008 to December 2009, they held the same role at Gen-i.

Gerard's earlier experiences include working as a Test Manager (contract) at AMP Financial Services from June 2007 to February 2008 and as a Senior Test Analyst / Test Lead at the Department of Internal Affairs from January 2006 to June 2007. From March 2002 to January 2006, they worked at the National Bank of New Zealand as a Senior Test Analyst / Business Analyst.

Gerard's first professional role was as the Marketing Cards Team Coordinator at The National Bank of New Zealand from December 2000 to February 2002. Throughout their career, Gerard has developed a strong background in infrastructure testing, automation, and management roles, with a focus on ensuring quality and efficiency in software and IT systems.

Gerard Pastrana pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Marketing & Advertising (Hons) degree from P. GranColombiano University, which they completed between 1993 and 1997. Following this, they attended Victoria University of Wellington, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (BCA) degree in Marketing, spanning from 1998 to 1999. Furthering their studies, Gerard pursued a Master's Degree in Information Systems Management (MIM) at the same institution, Victoria University of Wellington, from 2000 to 2004.
