David Shiga

David Shiga is a seasoned data engineer with extensive experience in developing data pipelines and services for significant scientific projects. Currently serving as a Senior Data Engineer at Voltus, Inc. since November 2021, David previously held the same title at Optimus Ride, where responsibilities included contributing to self-driving car technology. David's background includes a role as Principal Software Engineer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where contributions were made to the Human Cell Atlas project and the analysis of vast genomic data sets. Additional experience includes software engineering roles at American Well and various freelance positions, as well as a background in science reporting spanning from work at New Scientist to freelance journalism. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Toronto.
