Alexandru Niculae

Alexandru Niculae has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. In 2022, they worked at Voltz Labs as a Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of the Voltz Protocol, a non-custodial AMM for Interest Rate Swaps based on Uniswap v3. Alexandru deployed the protocol's subgraph and designed and implemented off-chain Risk Monitoring. Additionally, they scoped, implemented, and tested a permissionless smart contract that optimized concentrated liquidity across the protocol's AMM.

Before their time at Voltz Labs, Alexandru had two internships at Google Project Zero. In 2021, they served as a Software Engineering Intern, where they implemented macOS exception handling support in TinyInst and conducted fuzzing on Apple's closed-source ColorSync library, discovering an Out-of-Bounds Read vulnerability.

In 2020, during their first internship at Google Project Zero, Alexandru ported TinyInst to Apple's macOS, enabling coverage-guided binary fuzzing. Alexandru also developed a custom C++ debugger and integrated the macOS version of TinyInst into a fuzzer, which uncovered an Out-of-Bounds Write vulnerability in a closed-source image parsing library.

Alexandru Niculae's education history begins in 2014 when they attended the "Ion Luca Caragiale" High School, Ploiesti. During this time, they focused on studying Mathematics and Computer Science. Alexandru completed their high school education in 2018.

Following their high school graduation, Alexandru pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at UCL. Alexandru began their undergraduate studies in 2018 and successfully completed the program in 2021.

Continuing their academic journey, Alexandru went on to enroll in the University of Cambridge in 2021. Alexandru pursued a Master of Philosophy degree in Advanced Computer Science and is expected to complete the program in 2022.
