Jon Tengesdal

Jon Tengesdal currently serves as the Director of Youth and Outreach Services at Volunteers of America, a position held since April 2021. Prior to this role, Tengesdal worked as the Youth Services Supervisor at the Wyoming Girls School from September 2014 to April 2021 and as a Family Teacher at Boys Town from September 2008 to September 2014, providing care for at-risk youth. Earlier experience includes serving as a Primary Adolescent Counselor at Drake Counseling from May 2006 to August 2008 and as an Addiction Counselor Trainee at Fargo Consortium from August 2005 to May 2006. Tengesdal began a career in social services as a Juvenile Counselor at the West Central Regional Juvenile Detention Center and as a Tracker and Attendant Care Worker at Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
