June Koegel has had a long and successful career in the non-profit sector. June started working at Volunteers of America Indiana in 1985, where they held various roles such as Case Manager, Program Manager, and Assistant Director of Operations. In 1992, they became the President/CEO of Volunteers of America Northern New England and held that position until 2018. Currently, they are serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Volunteers of America.

June Koegel received their BS in Social Work and Criminal Justice from Ball State University, where they studied from 1982 to 1985. Later, they pursued their Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, specializing in Nonprofit Management and Business Law, from 1986 to 1990.
