Robert Brown

Robert Brown, MSW, ASW has a diverse range of work experience in the social work field. Robert began their career as a BSW Social Worker at Morningside Adult Day Health Care Center in 2011, where they provided case management for aging adults with Alzheimer's or Dementia. Robert then interned at Search to Involve Pilipino-Americans (SIPA) from 2011 to 2012, where they provided case management for youths in crisis and conducted community outreach.

In 2012, Robert interned at Vitas Innovative Hospice, performing psychosocial assessments and providing case management for terminally ill patients. Robert also worked as a Medical Social Worker at Kaiser Permanente (LA Recruitment Registry) in 2015, where they provided psychodynamic interventions and conducted psychosocial assessments.

Robert has experience as a Director of Social Services at Goldstar Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and Beachwood Post-Acute & Rehab in 2015 and 2016, respectively, where they collaborated with nursing and rehabilitation departments, delegated responsibilities, and mediated disputes.

Robert also worked as a Certified Enrollment Counselor at CoveredCA from 2014 to 2016, providing case management and educating consumers about healthcare plans.

From 2016 to present, Robert has been working at Volunteers of America as a Clinical Case Manager and currently as the Lead Clinical Case Manager GPD, taking on responsibilities in managing cases and providing support. Additionally, they worked as a Medical Social Worker at Primary Hospice Care from 2016 to 2018.

In 2016, they briefly served as the Director of Social Services at California Post-Acute Care, working on patient discharge planning and advocating for patients and their families.

Robert Brown obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, from 2008 to 2010. Robert then pursued further education and received their Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Aging and Families from California State University, Los Angeles, from 2011 to 2013. Prior to their bachelor's degree, Robert completed an Associate of Science degree in Social Sciences at El Camino College from 2005 to 2007.

Additionally, Robert obtained several certifications, including CPR and AED from the American Red Cross in December 2014. Robert also received certifications in Risk Prevention - Terminating the Client Relationship, Spousal/Partner Abuse Detection, Assessment and Intervention, and Advanced Law and Ethics from the National Association of Social Workers, California Chapter (NASW-CA), in 2014. In April 2014, they became an Associate Social Worker, certified by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Furthermore, Robert obtained a certification as a Certified Enrollment Counselor from CoveredCA in January 2014.
