Mats Karlsson has extensive work experience in the construction and transportation industry. Mats began their career in 1999 as a Project Manager at Bombardier Transportation Sweden, where they successfully managed international projects and oversaw the restructuring of the company. In 2002, they became the General Manager of Bombardier Transportation Sweden's development site in Helsingborg, where they were responsible for engineering, purchasing, and project management. Karlsson then joined Bombardier Transportation France as a Senior Project Manager in 2003. In 2008, they transitioned to Volvo Construction Equipment as the Vice President of Product Portfolio Development, where they worked until 2010. Mats then served as the Vice President of Technology, Vice President of Product Platform, and Director of Product Platform at Volvo Construction Equipment, where they were responsible for various product development initiatives and managing a team of engineers. Overall, Karlsson has demonstrated expertise in project management, product development, and leadership roles throughout their career.
Mats Karlsson obtained a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a major in mechanical design and quality management from Halmstad University from 1991 to 1994. Mats then pursued an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in solid and fluid mechanics at Luleå University of Technology from 1996 to 1998.
