Aravind Kailas

Aravind Kailas serves as the Advanced Technology Policy Director at Volvo Group, where significant achievements include establishing a satellite office and securing over $200 million in grants for AI-driven and sustainable transportation innovations. Prior experiences at Volvo also include roles as Research and Innovation Manager and Intelligent Transportation Systems Program Manager, contributing to projects such as the Volvo LIGHTS initiative and the first connected vehicle testbed in San Pedro Bay. In academia, Aravind has held positions as a Part-time Instructor at California State University, Long Beach, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, focusing on wireless communications and networking. Previous industry experience includes work at DOCOMO Innovations, Qualcomm, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Aravind holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, along with other advanced degrees in mathematics and electronics.
