Prakash Y has extensive work experience in the automotive industry. Prakash currently holds the position of Acting Director - Aftermarket Technology at Volvo Trucks India, where they oversee the technology aspect of the aftermarket division. Prior to this, Prakash worked at Volvo Group Trucks Technology in various roles, including Manager of Service & Parts Assortment Engineering and Site Manager for the APAC region. Prakash also served as Group Manager for Analysis in Cab Engineering and as Deputy Manager and Assistant Manager in Vehicle Engineering. Before joining Volvo, Prakash worked at General Motors Technical Centre India and Lear Corporation India, gaining experience in CAE and product development. Prakash began their career as a Project Engineer at CSM Software, where they executed design and analysis projects and provided training in design and FEA.
Prakash Y completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Marketing from Canara Bank School of Management Studies, Bangalore University, from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Engineering (M.E) in Mechanical with a specialization in Manufacturing Science & Engineering from Bangalore University from 1998 to 2000. Prakash also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Engineering/Industrial Management from Bangalore Institute of Technology, which they completed from 1993 to 1997.
