Murat Kumru

Murat Kumru is a Senior Sensor Fusion Engineer at Volvo Trucks since March 2023, bringing extensive experience in sensor fusion and robotics. Previously, as the Lead Sensor Fusion and Robotics Engineer at Kuartis from October 2021 to February 2023, Murat developed perception algorithms for intelligent mobile platforms, focusing on multi-object tracking using various sensor data. With a solid academic background, Murat served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Middle East Technical University from November 2014 to September 2021, instructing courses in signal processing and systems. Murat was also a co-founder of Mimo Electronics Inc., which received funding from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey to create laboratory setups for control applications. Additional experience includes an internship at EPFL and work as a Servo System Engineer at Aselsan, where Murat developed control loops for complex systems. Murat holds a PhD, MS, and BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
