Faizal Karim, Ph.D

Faizal Karim, Ph.D has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Faizal is currently serving as the VP of Technology at VoPay since April 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at Broadridge, starting in April 2013. Faizal served as the VP of Software Engineering from July 2020 to March 2021, Director of Applications Development from December 2018 to July 2020, and Application Development Manager from December 2017 to December 2018. Earlier in their career at Broadridge, they worked as a Sr. Systems Developer Analyst from April 2017 to December 2017, Systems Developer Analyst from December 2014 to April 2017, and Systems Developer from April 2013 to November 2014.

Before joining the technology industry, Faizal Karim worked at The University of British Columbia. Faizal was a Sessional Instructor from May 2010 to May 2013, teaching and guiding students in various subjects. Additionally, they worked as a Researcher from September 2005 to May 2013, focusing on nanoelectronics and publishing several papers on the modelling and simulation of correlated quantum-systems.

Faizal Karim, Ph.D completed their education in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Faizal began their academic journey at Ryerson University from 2002 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree at The University of British Columbia between 2005 and 2007, specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Faizal further advanced their knowledge and expertise in the field by acquiring a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from The University of British Columbia from 2005 to 2013.
