Chris van Wyk

Chris van Wyk has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Chris started their career as a Technical Consultant at DCS Synergy Computing, where they provided support for Cognos Business Intelligence Software and Powerhouse programming. Chris then joined Faritec / IBM as a Unix Systems Engineer, working on various projects. Following this, Chris worked at EasyPay as a Database Administrator, handling Sybase IQ/ASE, SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle Servers, along with UNIX/Linux Systems Administration and Business Objects Reporting & Administration. Chris then served as a Senior Associate at Macquarie Group before joining VOSS as a Senior Software Engineer, where they currently work.

Chris van Wyk attended Westville Boys High School in Westville, Durban from 1990 to 1992. During this time, they studied subjects such as English, Afrikaans, Technical Drawing, Science, Maths, Geography, and History. From 1992 to 1994, they attended Rondebosch Boys' High School in Rondebosch, Cape Town, where they pursued a Science degree and studied English, Mathematics, Geography, and History. Chris then went on to study at Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 1995 to 1998, earning a BTech degree in Financial Information Systems. In 2003 to 2004, they completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Distributed Commercial Information Systems at the University of Cape Town. Finally, from 2009 to 2011, they pursued a BCom (Hons) degree in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town.
