Garrett Hernandez Rimer

Co-Founder, VP of Partnerships at Voterfied Inc

Garrett Hernandez Rimer is known for being a political pioneer within the digital democracy movement. Garrett managed the first-ever liquid democracy campaign in the United States and assumed the role of deputy campaign manager for the first-ever digital direct democracy congressional candidate. Both of these campaigns received national media attention.

Garrett is a strong advocate for digital participatory governance, a movement capturing the best aspects of ancient direct democracy and modern representative democracy. He sees it as an opportunity to move away from ideologically-driven policymaking to more pragmatic, inclusive and evidence-based policymaking.

Before his time with Voterfied, Garrett had worked on both Democratic and Republican congressional campaigns, local elections, nonpartisan statewide ballot measures and in the nonprofit sector. During his time at the University of Colorado at Boulder he was a strong community activist for environmental and sexual assault issues. He currently is obtaining his master’s degree in Social and Public Policy from the University of York (UK).
