Barbara Arnwine

Civil rights leader Barbara Arnwine is the founder and president of the Transformative Justice Coalition and host of “Igniting Change with Barbara Arnwine” on Radio One’s WOL. Serving as President and Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law (1989-2015), Barbara established Election Protection, the nation’s largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, of which VoteRiders is a partner. She is internationally renowned for contributions on critical justice issues including the passage of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1991. Barbara has received numerous national, regional and local awards. She serves on the boards of several prominent nonprofits. A graduate of Scripps College and Duke University School of Law, Barbara is a frequent conference orator, has penned numerous articles, and is regularly quoted and featured by national and local media outlets.
