Linda Hawes Clever, MD, MACP is President of RENEW, a not-for-profit aimed at helping dedicated people maintain and regain enthusiasm, effectiveness and purpose. She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, founding Chair of the Department of Occupational Health at California Pacific Medical Center, former Editor of the Western Journal of Medicine, and founding Board member of Independent Sector. She received undergraduate and medical degrees from Stanford University. Her training underpinned her early work with AIDS. A teacher at Stanford and UCSF, she has written numerous papers, chapters, articles, and editorials and is the author of The Fatigue Prescription: Four Steps to Renewing Your Energy, Health and Life. She chaired the Boards of KQED and San Francisco University High School and served for 14 years on the Stanford University Board of Trustees as well as on both Boards of the American College of Physicians.
