The product of a family of activists and public servants, Marisa is committed to fighting for a more just and equitable world and to ensuring that all eligible voters are able to exercise their freedom to vote. Prior to joining VoteRiders, Marisa was the General Manager at Albany Park Theater Project, a Chicago-based arts program focused on young people from immigrant and first-generation families. She has also held programmatic and administrative positions focused on education, health and youth development at the Division of Indian Work in Minneapolis and worked as an Indigenous language educator. Marisa earned a BA in American Indian Studies from the University of Minnesota, and is currently completing her MPA at the University of Missouri. Outside of work, Marisa is a playwright and has served as a delegate to the Man Up Campaign’s International Summit to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
