Ales Tomazin

Ales Tomazin has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ales began their career as an Advisor at the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia in 1998. After working in the IT sector as an IT analyst at Triglav Insurance Company Ltd., they joined Kapitalska drustvo d.d. as an Analyst-Actuary in 2001. In 2003, they became the Chief Actuary at Merkur Zavarovalnica d.d. and held the position until 2009. Ales then moved to ZM d.d., where they served as the Chief Actuary and later as the CRO until 2016. Ales was the CEO at IRFAZ in 2016 before transitioning to the role of CRO at Zavarovalnica Sava later the same year. In 2018, they joined VouchForMe as the VP of Business Development, and since 2020, they have been working as the CFO at Vaven.

Ales Tomazin has a diverse education history. Ales earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Ljubljana, where they studied from 1992 to 1998. Ales then pursued two Master's degrees, one in Information Management from the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Economics (1999-2005) and another in Actuarial Science from the same faculty (2000-2006). Their academic journey culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Actuarial Science from the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Economics in 2016.
