Russell Udani

Russell Udani has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.

Russell started their career at GSK, where they worked as an Associate Scientist from June 2006 to March 2009. During this time, they established a fermentation laboratory, conducted bench scale fermentations, and gained experience in analytical techniques. Russell then transitioned to the role of Manufacturing Associate at ID Biomedical (now part of GSK) from May 2003 to June 2006. In this role, they played a key role in GMP aseptic vaccine filling processes, led vaccine production campaigns, and trained junior associates. Russell also conducted cell purification using various techniques.

Following their time at GSK, Russell joined Myriant Corporation in 2009. Russell started as a Research Engineer, where they provided on-site support for technology transfer and scale-up of fermentations, authored process protocols, and conducted process development optimization. Russell then advanced to the role of Senior Research Associate from March 2011 to October 2012, where they collaborated with the engineering team and trained junior members. From October 2012 to March 2016, they worked as a Scientist II, leading a team in achieving fermentation targets and authoring commissioning and start-up procedures. Finally, from March 2016 to January 2019, they held the position of Senior Scientist, managing a team of engineers executing fermentations, analyzing data, and managing inventories.

Their most recent work experience is with Voyager Therapeutics, Inc., where they joined in 2019. Russell started as an Engineer II in Pilot Development from May 2019 to October 2019. Russell then progressed to the role of Senior Engineer I in Pilot Lead from October 2019 to March 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Engineer II and serves as the Pilot Lead.
