Chaitanya Joshi

Senior Photonic Systems Engineer at Voyant Photonics

Chaitanya Joshi has a wealth of work experience in photonics and related fields. In 2009, they were a Visiting Intern at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, where they developed code to extract information about the refractive index and coefficient of extinction of materials in the Tera Hertz frequency range. In 2010, they were a Research Intern at TU Delft, where they worked on correlation studies using femtosecond pulsed frequency comb lasers and developed MATLAB code and an experimental setup to obtain and analyse correlation patterns obtained using a unbalanced Michelson interferometer. In 2012, they were a Nanophotonics Intern at Tornado Medical Systems. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Cornell University, where they worked on silicon photonics based frequency comb sources in Prof. Alexander Gaeta's research group in the School of Applied and Engineering Physics. In 2019, they were a Senior Photonics Test Engineer at Elenion Technologies. From 2020 to 2022, they were a Member of Technical Staff at Nokia. Currently, they are a Senior Photonic Systems Engineer at Voyant Photonics.

Chaitanya Joshi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Physics from Cornell University, which they obtained in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied Physics from Cornell University in 2013. Chaitanya also holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, which they obtained in 2011. In addition, Chaitanya Joshi has obtained two certifications from Coursera: an "Introduction to Operations Management" in November 2012, and a "Networked Life" certification in October 2012.
