Dwight Gomes

Dwight Gomes is a corporate M&A attorney at Vitol Power International (VPI), where they focus on project development in renewable energy, energy transition, carbon capture and storage (CCUS), and low carbon hydrogen industries. Since 2021, Dwight has led efforts in policy formation, negotiations, and financing arrangements for large-scale decarbonization projects. Previously, they held key executive roles at Rio Tinto, overseeing energy asset management and developing industry-leading projects in hydrogen and clean energy. Their legal expertise, developed over two decades at McCarthy Tétrault, included a focus on clean energy and private equity, complemented by law degrees from the University of Toronto and a BA in Economics from The University of Western Ontario.
