Edwin J. Franco H.

Edwin J. Franco H. has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Edwin J. started their career as a Deck Cadet in ISS PANAMA in 2011. Edwin J. then worked as a Deck Cadet in Ahrenkiel Steamship GmbH & Co KG in 2012. Edwin then joined Antillean Marine Shipping Corp. in 2014 as a Second Officer, responsible for navigation, safety, and equipment maintenance. In 2015, they became a Third Officer at Ahrenkiel Steamship GmbH & Co KG, focusing on navigational watchkeeping and cargo operations. Edwin then progressed to the role of Second Officer in the same company in 2018, where they excelled as a Safety Officer, responsible for equipment inspection and maintenance, as well as drill planning and execution. In 2022, Edwin worked as a Nautical Science Professor at the International Maritime University Of Panama. Edwin J. is currently employed as a Chief Mate at VT Group, starting in 2023.

Edwin J. Franco H. completed their education at the International Maritime University of Panama. From 2008 to 2010, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Nautical Engineering with a specialization in Navigation and Maritime Transportation. In 2021 and 2022, Edwin pursued a Postgraduate Degree on Higher Education in Community College Education at the same university.

In addition to their educational background, Edwin obtained several certifications. In September 2020, they acquired the Master II/2 certification from the Panama Ship Registry. In January 2019, they obtained the Republic of Liberia - License of competence to Marchant Marine Officer (Endorsement) from LISCR. Finally, in January 2016, they obtained the Antigua and Barbuda License of Competence to Merchant Marine Officer (Endorsement) from the Department of Marine Service and Merchant Shipping Antigua and Barbuda.

It is worth noting that Edwin obtained the GMDSS General Operator IV/2 certification and the Chief mate II/2 certification in April 2023 and March 2023, respectively, from the Panama Ship Registry.
