Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Waterloo, ON. This role will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and will provide vital support across HR functions. The ideal candidate should be creative and thrive in a startup, engineering entrepreneurial environment. They must possess strong judgment skills, exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, and excellent administrative and organizational skills, with the capacity to effectively manage multiple priorities.

YOUR Day-to-day Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Director of Human Resources in all HR-related tasks and initiatives.
• Serve as the primary administrator for the HR team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that encourages employee engagement.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Administer and manage BambooHR to maintain accurate employee records and streamline HR functions.
• Draft, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR inquiries and concerns, fostering a positive workplace culture.
• Assist in the implementation of performance management and employee development programs.
• Oversee the administration and execution of the co-op program.
• Manage the onboarding process for new employees throughout the company.
• Administer and manage the company benefits platform to maintain accurate employee records and streamline HR functions.
• Support the creation of HR tools and processes from the ground up as the company scales.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and best practices.

TOOLs/Skillsyou need for your role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a startup or engineering environment.
• Proficiency in BambooHR or similar HR software.
• Strong understanding of HR processes, employee relations, and compliance issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Creative problem solver with good judgment and a proactive approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and a collaborative working style.
• Administer and manage BambooHR to ensure accurate employee records and streamlined HR processes.
• Provide training and support to staff on using BambooHR effectively.
• Experience working in a diverse culture and implementing diversity initiatives
• Experience in the development and implementation of HR initiatives related to performance management, training, and employee development.
