Nicolas Laporte is an experienced astronomer currently serving as an Assistant Astronomer at Aix-Marseille Université since December 2023 and as a member of the Scientific Council at Vulcania since July 2022. Laporte has held various research roles, including Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge from October 2019 to December 2023, and Research Associate at University College London from March 2016 to September 2019, as well as at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile from March 2014 to February 2016. Laporte's post-doctoral research took place at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, focusing on extremely massive objects in the early Universe. Prior academic work includes a doctoral position at IRAP in Toulouse, specializing in the study of the first galaxies. Educational accomplishments include a Research Doctorate in Astrophysics from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, a Master's degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Université de Bordeaux, and a Licence in Physical Sciences from Université Blaise Pascal.
