Michael Schutterop has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and industries. Michael is currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering at Vuzix Corporation since February 2021. Prior to this, they worked at TEOCO for ten years, starting in July 2011 and holding the position of Principal.

Before TEOCO, Michael gained valuable experience at Paychex where they served as a Program Manager in the Enterprise Program Office. During their tenure from July 2010 to July 2011, they played a crucial role in maturing processes, tools, and the team to enhance project execution across multiple lines of business.

Before Paychex, Michael worked at Excellus BCBS as the Manager of the Project Management Competency Center. Michael held this position from May 2006 to September 2010.

Their career began at Welch Allyn, Inc. as an Assistant to the Project Manager (Co-Op) for a period of eight months in 1990.

Throughout their career, Michael has held various director-level roles at Vibrant Solutions, Inc. Their responsibilities included managing customer services, implementation project management, IT and data center operations, and international business development. Michael successfully navigated through acquisitions, funding rounds, technology conversion, and rebranding campaigns at Vibrant Solutions.

Prior to Vibrant Solutions, Michael worked as the Support & Installation Manager at Connexn Technologies, Inc., where they oversaw customer implementation projects, customer support, and talent acquisition and development. Their leadership helped the company's growth from a small team to approximately 50 employees. Connexn Technologies was later acquired by Subex Systems.

Michael also served as a Management Team Member at CSC from July 1994 to April 1998 and as a Team Leader at AMERICAN MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN from January 1992 to June 1994. At AMERICAN MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN, they led the business process and application support for the commercial launch of a billing and customer care solution at GSM Operators in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Brussels, Belgium.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated strong leadership, project management, and technical skills.

Michael Schutterop completed their Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Clarkson University, from 1987 to 1991. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1987, they achieved the "Third Degree" certification from CMAS - World Underwater Federation. In 1995, they earned the "Catalyst Project Manager" certification from CSC. Further, in 2006, they obtained the "Project Management Professional (PMP)®" certification from the Project Management Institute. Lastly, in 2013, they obtained the "General Operator Privileges" certification from ARRL, the national association for Amateur Radio.
