Hugo Schalkwijk

Hugo Schalkwijk is an experienced advisor and curator currently working at Verpleegkundigen & Verzorgenden Nederland and Historisch College FNI since January 2020, respectively. Hugo has held various research roles at Fontys Hogescholen and Universiteit van Amsterdam, where a PhD candidacy is currently pursued. Previous roles include researcher at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and HR consultant at OLVG, alongside positions such as planner, medical secretary, and project assistant. Hugo specializes in public history, focusing on the contemporary history of medicine and health, with notable projects including oral history research on palliative medicine and the Dutch AIDS Memorial Quilt.
