Jef Peeraer is a seasoned education professional with extensive experience in strategic education advisory roles, currently serving as a Global Strategic Education Advisor at VVOB since June 2006. Peeraer has successfully designed and managed projects funded by notable organizations including Mastercard Foundation and USAID, overseeing large budgets and teams. Previous positions include Country Programmes Manager for Rwanda, Senior Education Advisor focusing on primary education outcomes, Monitoring & Evaluation Expert developing M&E systems for various programs, and Project Coordinator for ICT in Education initiatives in Vietnam. Jef has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at Endicott College and has been involved in educational consultancy and research roles, holding a PhD in Education Sciences from the University of Antwerp and an MA in Social Sciences from KU Leuven.

VVOB – education for development is an international organisation with over 40 years’ experience in strengthening the quality of education systems in Africa, Asia and South America in close partnership with ministries of education and their institutions. Research shows that, of all school-based factors, the quality of teaching and school leadership has the biggest impact on learning outcomes of learners. As such, the professional development of teachers and school leaders is VVOB’s primary priority in ensuring quality education for all.
