Nicki McDermott-Roe

Nicki McDermott-Roe has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Nicki has worked as a Product Designer at Vypr starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were a Senior Digital Product Designer at FutureLearn from April 2022 to December 2022, where they led the redesign of customer-facing marketing and transactional emails. Nicki collaborated with legal teams to ensure compliance with GDPR marketing laws. Nicki also worked at the BBC, where they had multiple roles. Nicki was the lead designer on Silver, the BBC's live streaming tool, from September 2019 to March 2022. Nicki conducted research and aligned user needs and priorities for Silver. Nicki also worked as a Junior UX Designer for BBC iPlayer and BBC Children's, where they won two UXUK awards for the best user experience and best entertainment and leisure experience in 2019. Nicki started their design career as a UX Design Trainee at GEL, Interactive TV, and Children's at the BBC. Nicki'searlier experience includes working as an Associate Visual Designer at Ordnance Survey from June 2014 to September 2016.

Nicki McDermott-Roe obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communication from the University of South Wales, specializing in Graphic Design. Nicki attended the university from 2011 to 2014.
