Phil Carter

Phil Carter serves as the Vice President of Mortgage Originations at VyStar Credit Union since July 2015, bringing extensive experience in the mortgage industry. Prior to this role, Phil was the AVP of Real Estate Lending at SAFE Credit Union from September 2010 to June 2015, where responsibilities included enhancing sales and profitability while managing the department budget. Phil has also held various positions including Audit Contractor at Fortace, LLC, and Forensic Auditor at CMAC Consumer Mortgage Audit Center. Other notable roles include VP of Credit and Operations at LownHome Financial, Regional Ops Manager at New Century Mortgage, Sr. Product Manager at Fannie Mae, and National BC Product Coordinator at North American Dime Mortgage Bank. Phil began a career in mortgage as an Account Executive for Retail and Wholesale Mortgage. Phil holds a B.S.B.A in Finance from Appalachian State University.
