Rick Merkel

Rick Merkel is an experienced construction professional with over three decades in the industry. Currently serving as General Superintendent at W.L. Butler Construction since July 2010, Rick oversees all projects in Northern California and supports field operations. Prior to this role, Rick held the position of Superintendent at Opus West Corporation from 2001 to 2009, managing construction activities, scheduling subcontractors, and ensuring job site safety and quality. Earlier in Rick's career, Rick worked as a Superintendent at Hollander Smith Construction Inc. from October 1992 to February 2001. Rick's educational background includes attendance at Cal State Hayward and San Leandro High School.
