Michele Schimmel

President, tWist at W2O Group

Michele Schimmel is currently the President of W2O Twist. She has a passion for developing brand-building communications programs that drive action and deliver on business objectives. Michele has a keen understanding of healthcare stakeholders and creates multi-channel communications that reach and motivate them. She has developed strategies for products and franchises at all lifecycle stages, including clinical development, FDA approval, product launch, Rx to OTC switch and maturity. She has a deep knowledge of how to leverage mainstream and social media to create meaningful communications within regulatory guidelines. Michele’s work and teams have received numerous industry awards.

One of Michele’s core expertise areas is marketing-to-women – both in reaching women as patients and as the “chief medical officers” of their families. Her women’s health experience is vast and includes product communications support for Paragard, NuvaRing, Nexplanon, Plan B One Step, Halaven, Oxytrol for Women, Cervarix and Poise to name a few. Michele has also led corporate communications initiatives for AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Myovant and Merck for Mothers, Merck’s corporate signature initiative.

In Michele’s most recent position she led the healthcare divisions at Marina Maher Communications and RXMOSAIC. During this time, Michele helped reinvigorate RXMOSAIC by introducing new services and offerings, growing the team and client roster and launching new agency branding. With Michele at the helm, RXMOSAIC has experienced multi-year, double-digit growth and was named a Healthcare Agency of the Year finalist by the Holmes Report for the past three years.

Michele has a master’s degree in health communication from Emerson College. She was named a Healthcare Businesswoman’s Association (HBA) Luminary and served as a member of the organization’s Gender Parity Collaborative team. Michele was also named a PR Champion by PR Week.
