Buck Bacon's work experience includes various roles in engineering and management positions. Buck started their career in 2001 as an Engineering Technician at the Department of Public Utilities in Athens-Clarke County. From 2007 to 2015, they worked at the Department of Transportation and Public Works, where they served as a Design Engineer/Coordinator and later as the Engineering Administrator on an interim basis. In 2015, they joined W&A Engineering as a Project Manager, responsible for providing engineering and design services. Over the years, they progressed within the company, holding positions such as Director of Corporate Culture and Career Planning and Director of Engineering. Currently, Buck holds the role of Government and Community Services Director at W&A Engineering.
Buck Bacon's education history includes a period from 2005 to 2007 when they attended Old Dominion University. During their time there, they pursued studies in Civil Engineering but did not obtain a specific degree. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2001, they attended Athens Technical College where they earned an Associate degree in Mechanical and Architectural Design.
In addition to their formal education, Buck Bacon has also obtained two certifications. These certifications include becoming a Certified Professional Project Manager (CPPM) from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in February 2023. The other certification is a Level 2 Erosion Plan Reviewer from the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission, although the details of when they obtained it are unknown.
