Brooke Haynes is a communications professional with a Bachelor of Communications in Journalism and Digital Media Production from the University of North Alabama, completed in 2023. Currently serving as a Producer at WAAY-TV since July 2023, Brooke has a diverse background in media, having held various roles at The Flor-Ala from August 2019 to May 2023, including Editor In Chief, Managing Editor, Arts and Entertainment Editor, News Editor, and Staff Writer. Additional experience includes internships at The Storyhive and a position as a Distribution Manager and Staff Writer at FLOW Magazine, along with research assistance for Voices For Justice Media. Earlier experience includes outreach in a staff aide role at Victory Baptist Daycare and Preschool.

WAAY 31 is the ABC affiliate in Huntsville-Decatur-Florence, AL and is part of Allen Media Broadcasting. WAAY 31 is North Alabama’s legacy station serving the region for almost 70-years. WAAY operates waaytv.com and airs This TV, ION, H&I and others from a transmitter at its Monte Sano Boulevard studios on top of Monte Sano Mountain, one of the most beautiful views in the area. WAAY 31 has been honored by the Alabama Broadcasters Association as Alabama’s 2022 Station of the Year. WAAY 31 is home to the nation’s largest privately owned radar network featuring three radars strategically placed from border to border across North Alabama.
