John Olin is the EVP and CFO at Wabtec Corporation. John was previously the CFO at Harley-Davidson, Inc. from May 2003 to July 2020. John is responsible for delivering the overall financial performance and shareholder value for Wabtec's global businesses. This includes ensuring both short and long-term revenue growth, enterprise profitability, and earnings predictability. In response to COVID-19, John raised over $3 billion of liquidity, resized and restructured the Company to improve profitability despite lower sales, reduce complexity, and increase speed of decisions.

At Harley-Davidson, John provided leadership and oversight in the creation and deployment of a new long-term strategic plan in 2017 which was in response to a severe secular decline in the U.S. motorcycle industry. The strategy drove positive disruption in the industry by focusing on 3 key growth catalysts, including expanding H-D’s addressable market with innovative products, brand amplification, and channel innovation – entirely funded by the consolidation of operations and aggressive cost management yielding savings of $800 million over 5 years. Growth of H-D sales was restored in early 2020, but then was impacted by COVID-19.

Prior to the 2017 strategic plan, John successfully led the company through the 2008/09 downturn by developing and executing a comprehensive restructuring of Motor Company assets and the transformation of manufacturing ($60M in annual savings) and product development (30% reduction in time-to-market) functions. John also restructured H-D Financial Services balance sheet significantly improving liquidity and return on equity. The

John Olin received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Business Administration in Finance & Marketing from the University of Chicago.

They work with David L. Deninno - EVP, General Counsel & Secretary, Lilian Leroux - President, Transit, and Greg Sbrocco - EVP, Global Operations. John Olin reports to Rafael Santana, President & CEO.
