Christian Hartel

Dr. Christian Hartel was born on March 27, 1971, in Frankfurt am Main. After completing a degree in Chemistry at the University of Konstanz, he earned a doctorate in Natural Sciences from the universities of Geneva and Frankfurt am Main.

He then started his career as a consultant at Bain & Company Germany Inc., Munich. 2003 saw him join Wacker Chemie GmbH’s Corporate Development department. Between 2005 and 2009, he occupied various managerial positions in sales & marketing, product development, and production at the WACKER SILICONES and WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS divisions. In 2010, he became head of Raw Materials Procurement at Wacker Chemie AG. In 2012, he took over as President of WACKER SILICONES. He has been a member of Wacker Chemie AG’s Executive Board since November 2015.
