Nuning Purwaningrum Hallett has held various roles in the corporate world since 2006. Nuning began their career as a Program Manager at 4INDEV in 2006. From 2010 to 2013, they were an Adjunct Professor at the University at Buffalo, where they developed syllabuses, selected reading materials, and conducted independent classes. In 2013, they became the Executive Director of the Indonesian Diaspora Network-United, where they represented 8 million Indonesians living overseas. From 2015 to 2017, they were the Country Director of iCare Benefits Indonesia, a company they co-founded. Nuning then moved on to become the Chief Commercial Officer of PT. Sadaya Palapa Jaya in 2019, where they led the Commercial Division and partnered with several bonafide companies and served 400,000 employees. In 2020, they took on the role of VP, Head of Retail Business at Modalku, the largest P2P lending (Financial Technology) in Southeast Asia. Currently, they are the Sales Director at Wagely, a responsible financial wellness platform.

Nuning Purwaningrum Hallett has an extensive education history. Nuning earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Transnational Studies / Gender Studies from the University at Buffalo between 2008 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts - MA in Gender Studies from the University of Indonesia between 2003 and 2006. From 2001 to 2003, they earned an MM in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo. Nuning Purwaningrum Hallett also earned a Diploma - Advanced Japanese Studies in Advance Japanese Studies (mastered 2,000 Kanji) from ACC International Culture College between 1997 and 1999. Finally, they obtained a BA in Japanese Language and Literature from Universitas Padjadjaran between 1992 and 1997. In 2021, they also obtained a Collective Leadership Specialist certification from the Collective Leadership Institute gGmbH.
