Wageningen Plant Research
Hilde Vaessen is a researcher specializing in digital farming systems at Wageningen Plant Research since September 2021. Previously, Hilde conducted PhD research on predicting cyanobacterial blooms while also serving as a teacher in the Biometris department at Wageningen University & Research from February 2019 to October 2021. Hilde held the position of research assistant for the Global Yield Gap Atlas project at Wageningen University & Research from March to December 2018, collaborating with agronomists to address yield gaps in major food crops. An internship at Wageningen University in late 2017 involved assisting in teaching Seagriculture and creating course libraries for the BSc Plant Sciences program. Hilde holds a Master’s Degree in Plant Sciences from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor’s Degree in Plantenwetenschappen from the same institution, complemented by an exchange minor at SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a bilingual VWO high school education.
